Back in the days before the World Wide Web.
When planning to build a house, one of those things you’d have to do, is to see an architect.
But unfortunately, using the service of an architect isn’t often cheap. In other words, the need for architect often significantly drives up the cost of building a house.
But thanks to the advent of the internet, that doesn’t have to be anymore.
Nowadays, if you plan to build a generic 3-bedroom flat in Nigeria, it’s possible to avoid the service of an architect. And to help save some money is the reason we created this content.
In this content,
We’d be presenting 6 cool building plans usable for a 3-bedroom flat in Nigeria. And we’re sure you’d find, at least, one good one among them.
3-Bedroom Building plan 1
Features
- Living room
- Integrated dining and kitchen
- Master bedroom [with toilet and wardrobe]
- 2 standard rooms [with wardrobes]
- Shared toilet
- Two-car garage
The building plan above is one of those we believe would be ideal for most families, especially a family of 4 – 8 people. The plan, of course, has three bedrooms, with one of them being a master bedroom.
The master bedroom is meant for the mum and the dad, and this master bedroom has got its own toilet and bathroom.
But while the master bedroom is the only one having a bathroom, the two other rooms feature wardrobes.
In a standard 3-bedroom flat, you’d often find a laundry, but this plan doesn’t take that into consideration. Rather than taking laundry into consideration, this house takes a car garage into consideration. In other words, this plan would be great for people who feel a strong need to keep their cars safe.
In short, this first building plan for a 3-bedroom flat, would be great for a medium-sized family that would be living in a place where their car can easily be stolen or damaged. It is also worthwhile stating that this plan would also be a great one for people having a rectangular piece of land.
3 Bedroom Building plan 2
Features
- Integrated living room, dining, and kitchen
- Secondary kitchen
- 1 master bedroom [with toilet and walk-in closet]
- 2 standard bedrooms [with wardrobes]
- Shared toilet
This second building plan is an excellent plan for a middle-class family.
This plan is great for someone who doesn’t really have much on them but needs a 3-bedroom plan that would be easy and cost less to build. The plan doesn’t have many partitions, so there wouldn’t be an excessive demand for building blocks.
However, simplicity isn’t the only thing that makes this plan ideal for a middle-class family.
Another thing that makes it ideal, is the second kitchen placed at the back. In a lot of middle-class families, mums run small businesses that have to do with cooking things and selling them. And when cooking whatever it is they sell, they might have to mess up the kitchen. So if you believe this is the kind of home you’d have or already have, then the secondary kitchen would be of great usefulness to your wife.
And like the first building plan, this plan also features a master bedroom which comes with its own walk-in closet and bathroom. But while the two other rooms have no walk-in closet, there is room for wardrobes.
3-Bedroom Building plan 3
Features
- Living room [with visitor toilet]
- Dinning
- Kitchen [with store]
- 1 master bedroom [with toilet and walk-in closet]
- 2 standard rooms [with toilets]
Is your family the kind that would often receive visitors?
And would you dislike having your visitors interfere with your family’s activities? If yes, then this third building plan is what we’d recommend. This plan was specially designed for people like you, and we doubt you wouldn’t find it suitable.
A visitor can be welcomed into your sitting room, without seeing much of what’s going on in your home; partial thanks to the hallway which allows your family members to move between rooms, undetected. Also, this plan accounts for a big living room. In other words, there’s enough space for a lot of visitors.
Furthermore, when a visitor has to ease themself, they get to use the toilet that’s at the back of the living room. This is another way of ensuring visitors don’t share the same toilet with your children.
3-Bedroom Building plan 4
Features
- Living room
- Integrated dining and kitchen
- 1 master bedroom [with toilet and wardrobe]
- 2 standard room [with wardrobe]
- Shared toilet
- Garage
Do you have a small family?
Do you need a simple plan? Would it take some time before raising a fence around your home? Do you have just one car in your household? Is your area one of those where cars can get stolen or damaged? If you answer yes to all these questions, then this plan is for someone like you.
As you can see, the plan doesn’t have a lot of partitions. In other words, building it should pose no challenge, and building it should cost you a lesser amount of building materials. And also, with the small garage featured in the plan, you get to sleep with rest of mind, knowing nothing is going to happen to your car.
3-Bedroom Building plan 5
Features
- Integrated living room, dining, and kitchen [with kitchen store]
- Master bedroom [with toilet and wardrobe]
- Visitor toilet
- 2 standard bedrooms [with wardrobes]
- Shared toilet
- Playroom
We are going to have readers who have kids or are expecting babies.
And if you’re one of such people, this plan is one of those we’d strongly recommend.
Kids love to play, especially outside. But for one reason or the other, it may be unsafe for them to play outside, in your area. And if you’re willing to take their interest into consideration, you can consider this plan which comes with a playroom. Notice how having this playroom doesn’t sacrifice any bedroom.
In other words, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to consider this plan because of your kids.
We also appreciate the fact that this plan accounts for a visitor toilet. In other words, some random person wouldn’t be allowed to share the same toilet with your children. However, note how this visitor toilet is close to the kitchen; some people may not like this, but it shouldn’t be a big problem.
3-Bedroom Building plan 6
Features
- Living room
- Kitchen
- Master bedroom [with toilet]
- 2 standard rooms
- Shared toilet
While all plans we have presented so far have something special about them, this sixth plan has nothing special about it. Or maybe we shouldn’t say that because the other plans require considerable amounts of land, while this plan doesn’t. This plan can easily be implemented on a very small piece of land.
In other words, it would be very suitable for small families trying to build houses in places where the cost of land is pretty high.
Furthermore,
The terrace featured in this plan would also serve as a place to get fresh air at night. In other words, if your kids are those who love studying outside, at night, they may even love this plan more.
And just like every other plan in this article, this plan comes with a master bedroom. The master bedroom comes with its own toilet.
This plan also features a terrace at the back, and it is, of course, a thing we believe is very thoughtful. In short, when considering building plans to use, you should also take this plan seriously.
